Project: “online portal for the older generation” – the first website working on elderly issues

The project is implemented by the foundation Taoba from October 2020 to April 2021 and aimed to provide online access to information and consulting on elderly issues. Within the framework of the project, the foundation Taoba has created a Facebook page and a web portal: www.taoba.org.ge , which covers all the important questions that are of interest to the elderly population. Through the site, the elderly, caregivers and / or other generations interested in aging subject will learn about health and social services, medical services, legal rights, psychological support and the prevention and management of various diseases. In addition, access to information on elderly issues will increase the resilience of older generation to Covid-19 and other global threats.

The web portal www.taoba.org.ge  was launched online on January 31 and has more than 7,000 visitors during this period. More than 70 informative articles and video resources were prepared and uploaded to the website and is planned to add new materials for the further development of the portal.

In the future, the foundation Taoba plans to further develop the website and increase its accessibility for all citizens of Georgia, which means translating the content into Abkhazian, Ossetian, Azerbaijani and Armenian languages. It is also planned to organize remote clubs for the elderly and their family members.

The project has been implemented by the foundation Taoba under the sponsorship of the Center for Training and Counsultancy with support from Bread for the World within the framework of the Health, Care and Social Rights Program.
