Short description of the project: Creating a Model of Capacity Development System (CDS) on Local Economic Development (LED) for Local Self-Governments in Georgia is funded by: UNDP project “Fostering Regional and Local Development in Georgia – Phase 2 (FRLD 2).
The project goal is to enable municipal authorities to better plan and conduct local economic initiatives and facilitate the Local Economic Development process as a whole. To achieve this goal, CTC will :
- Assess existing capacity of target 23 municipality staff and identify professional development needs required to deliver LED initiatives successfully;
- Develop comprehensive packages of 10 practical training modules (in-person and/or online) including relevant study materials;
- Identify training provider organizations and respective trainers for each training module;
- Develop LED Capacity Development System (CDS) model, which conceptualizes how the system shall function and defines modalities through which municipalities will be able to procure the LED trainings for their staff within the given legal framework;
- Test the CDS model in practice.
